Man allegedly kills wife, himself at Tosen in Asuogyaman

A man allegedly shot his wife dead and then took his own life at Tosen, near Adum-Boso in the Eastern Region’s Asuogyaman District, on 10 October 2026, GhanaWeb reported.

The couple’s two children ran from the house calling for help and told passers-by that their father had shot their mother. A commercial motorcyclist riding through the area had heard two gunshots moments earlier. He had taken them for noise from a local celebration and kept going. After hearing the children, he rode to the nearest police station to report what had happened.

Police officers went to the house and took control of the scene. The bodies have been moved to a mortuary for preservation and autopsy, and investigations are continuing. The motive is not known. Neighbours said they had no explanation for the killings, and the Ghana Police Service has not yet set out the circumstances.

The two children survived. The deaths have left the small farming settlement in mourning, and residents describe a community gripped by fear since the incident.
